SHOEI Personal Fitting System (PFS)
A good and stable fit is essential for a motorycle helmet.
The SHOEI Personal Fitting System, known as PFS, is a bespoke motorcycle helmet fitting service developed by SHOEI in Japan. Using a precision head-measuring instrument and proprietary software, a trained PFS technician can calculate the exact internal padding configuration for your chosen SHOEI helmet, producing a fit that no off-the-shelf sizing can replicate.
PFS is available at SHOEI Gallery Birmingham, the UK's only official SHOEI Gallery and one of a small number of fully certified PFS centres in the UK.
Core concept
A helmet that moves on your head, creates pressure points, or lets wind noise in isn't just uncomfortable, it's a safety issue. PFS addresses the fundamental problem that every rider has a different head shape, and no single production helmet can account for that variation.
SHOEI's solution is a software-driven fitting process, trained on thousands of head measurements, that identifies exactly which internal pads need to be adjusted, and by how much, to bring any current SHOEI model into optimal contact with your specific head shape.
Analysis of head shape
Step 1: Your head is measured using a specially developed SHOEI instrument that captures three key dimensions. This data is fed into SHOEI's PFS software alongside your chosen helmet model, which generates a precise recommendation for your correct helmet size and a list of adjustment positions in the crown area.
Step 2: Using the software's recommendations, your technician fits the helmet with a set of specially designed SHOEI fitting pads, including crown inserts, length-adjustment pieces, and cheek pad shims. You try the helmet, provide feedback, and the technician fine-tunes until the fit is right. The pads are then permanently fixed in place.
The total appointment takes around 40 minutes. The service costs £50, which covers all standard fitting materials. If additional intermediate-size pads are required, these may be charged separately.

Compatible Helmets
PFS is available for all current SHOEI helmet models, including the X-SPR Pro, GT-Air 3, NXR2, Neotec 3, Glamster 06, J-Cruise 3, J.O2, Hornet ADV 06, and VFX-WR 06. It is also compatible with a number of previous-generation models, ask in-store if you're unsure about an existing helmet.
